Gold Rush, a TTRPG campaign

Gold Rush is a game of fast-paced action and deep political intrigue for d20-based RPG systems. In the desolate, fiery wasteland of Azeni, a powerful and magical ore called Arcanoxylem, or more commonly, bloodwood has drawn the attention of every major player in the planes. Kingdoms, churches, and syndicates of all stripes are flocking to open mining operations and process this valuable material into magical items, and of course export it to the highest bidder.

As the city of Azeni is flooded with newcomers, the players must navigate the tensions between the three major factions: The Knights, The Thieves, and The Cult. They have vast amounts of resources, and the city could not operate mining operations at this scale their own, but the factions have their own goals. Each wants nothing more than to destroy the others and claim the motherlode, but whoever makes the first move will be put down by the other two. The result is a pressure vessel always on the edge of exploding.

This adventure gives players plenty of options as for who to ally with, but presents options clearly. They have agency of which faction to work with and how to play these enemies against each other as they unravel the dark secret of where bloodwood comes from, or maybe even make their own faction once they amass enough clout and capital. Gold Rush is structured to provide a solid story scaffolding guidance for GMs: comprehensive enough to never worry about where to go next, but adaptable enough to encourage improvisation anywhere.
